The New Stainless Steel Firepot lasts approximately twice as long as the original mild steel firepot. The sidewalls and rod are made from a special high temp stainless steel alloy designed to withstand temperatures up to 2100° Fahrenheit. Rated for 1000 hours of use before replacement.

The Stainless Steel Patina
Heating the steel initiates a chemical reaction between iron and oxygen that creates a thin oxide layer on the metal. From the very first burn, this stove will begin to change colors. Gold, Purple, Blue, and Green will continue develop on the firebox and pipe the more the heater is used.

We purchased a previous pellet stove from local box store for $350 and it lasted less than six months before rusting terribly-even re-painted with stove paint!!
