The New Stainless Steel Firepot lasts approximately twice as long as the original mild steel firepot. The sidewalls and rod are made from a special high temp stainless steel alloy designed to withstand temperatures up to 2100° Fahrenheit. Rated for 1000 hours of use before replacement.

My friends ask me how to turn it down! Far far better for social (standing or sitting) than the equivalent BTU Propane heaters. They didn’t diss me much on cost and at least one was spot on. They know I don’t buy junk and see this is heavy quality build (same as my LSG Smoker) Outstanding quality and build. I am handy but it was also nice that the bulk of it was pre-assembled.
Other Pro: Starts easily with a few squirts of hand sanitizer – which is gelled alcohol – no need for fancy starter.
Operational notes: Burn box bottom slider always opens (falls back) when moving and I often forget to reset it. Maybe a simple dual oval catch?
Desire: Pellet hopper should be bigger. The burn time is a tad short for a social.
Longer term: Cutoff key in a slot with a handle. It seems to work better vertically so could go in a slot with a handle. Still mostly I use it to hold pellets in after pre-fill than to cut it off.
Cover is quality and will fit with hoppers and safety cage. It should have a foam or similar reinforcements on top as I’m concerned the corners will eventually tear out – esp as even at 6′ I can’t easily put the cover on without dragging the corners about some.

I have wanted one of these heaters since I first saw them online, and I finally got one. I couldn’t be happier! I actually got to get my hands on one of Wood Pellet Products original stoves that they made years ago. My best friend brought it to elk camp one year and I fell in love with it! The entire idea of the wood pellet heat as opposed to propane is intriguing. Ever since then I have wanted something with the wood pellet heat idea. And I landed the Big Timber. This thing is seriously so much better than the TWO other propane patio heaters I have. It looks better and it puts out way more heat than those other cheaply made heaters. I have to say that I really do love my heater(s)… I now have 2 Big Timber Elites (stainless). There was some issues with scratches when I received my first one, and this company went above and beyond to make things right. I can’t say enough about their efforts there, and I am a satisfied customer.
This product has lived up to its hype. It really does put off a good amount of heat, will not burn your decking, and is just cool. The primary reason for purchasing was that that people who were sitting by the firepit were tired of smelling like smoke when they would come in the house. It truly is smokeless, and we do not smell like smoke anymore. (the firepit rarely gets used anymore).
Overall I can’t say enough positive things about this company and their products. I am a huge fan!
